Paro Taktsang, also polular and known as Taktsang Palphug Monastery and Tiger's Nest hugging the side of a rocky cliff 700 metres(2300 feet) above Paro Valley and at an altitude 3,120 meters above sea level.

Guru Padmasambhava, popularly known as "Guru Rinpoche" visited and sanctified Bhutan in the 8th century when evil spirits abounded and harmed people. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche flew to this site on a tigress’ back to subdue a local demon.
